polite notice - for bluebottle

i put up a post in which i let my neighbours know that i'd put auto approve back on since the abuse had subsided but just before i closed down for the night i changed my mind because i just knew someone would take advantage of that announcement - so i turned the approval back on whilst i slept and sure enough - when i signed in the next day the abuse had already started - bluebottle had left me comments regardless of the post just to annoy me and provoke me and to be blunt about it this man is just like a spoilt child - as a polite notice bluebottle take this is a warning - if you ever try to do anything like that again i will give you a reaction but it will not be the reaction you want and you will not find it funny or amusing - do yourself a favour and back off

adobe photoshop express has added flickr integration options into the on-line beta resource - they have also added the ability to produce slideshows and embed them to all the usual platforms - perhaps a good help is the option to save as now to protect your originals in case it all goes wrong - there's peace of mind in that

dreamcatcher - morphey - mess in my head

just listened to the dreamcatcher album by morphey at deezer - very edgy and full of deep dub vibes - very different to many releases of late except one - third by portishead - not making a claim here that the albums are blueprints at all it's just that dark trip-hop sound - it's electronica mixed with sparse electric guitar and left field leanings

mastering at work - production weighs a ton

demo adds are going to slow right down for a while because we are mixing and mastering all the funkcartel albums which is some pretty heavy work load to put it mildly - there are now 11 albums and we have to finalize the arrangements - we have to finish and finalize all the lead and backing vocals - we have to sort out all the detail that matters - demos are not such a big deal but when mastering is being done, it all gets really technical - frequencies - dynamics - volume levels for radio mixes - cd mixes - club mixes etc etc etc all influence the mix-down and takes a hell of a long time - so please don't think we've got lazy or given up at all - we are still doing it and we're still working hard to break as new artists - when all the albums have been finished we will start planning the UK club tour for 2009 - we shall also be working on videos and club visuals to make sure the live shows have some good entertainment value - sander kleinenberg need not worry that we will steal his thunder - but we will put in a few electrical storms to add fuel to his fire

2007/8 have all been about production and life in the studio - 2009 will be about the getdown on the dancefloor and beats in the bars

runa islam is one of 4 artists shortlisted for the turner prize in 2008 - she was born in bangladesh and now lives and works in london - she uses film and video, and reports say she has been influenced by the work of filmmakers ingmar bergman and rainer werner fassbinder - more info will be available at the tate website

zimbabwe - terror amidst the presidential run-off

despite wining the first election the nation is going to have to go through a second round of election in zimbabwe and depsite fears for his own safety tsvangirai is going to return to his country to run another contest - mugabe has bought enough time already to start a terror campaign to influence the second round of votes and it seems he has more terror tactics to deploy since no dates have been set for the next election.

the timeframe seems to be anything from one month to a year according to news reports but the MDC are extremely worried about campaigning - tapiwa mudiwa is a an MDC supporter who was quoted to ask "How are we going to campaign in the run-off as MDC supporters? We can't wear MDC T-shirts. We fear we can't even go for rallies. Cars are being burned."
