o_o what? where did happen that? or did i understand wrongly? a child in a microwave? microondas?
It's America - Joshua Mauldin was taken to court in Galveston.

Mauldin claimed he started hallucinating when he was left alone in a Galveston hotel room with his daughter, feeling like mud was running up his body and consuming him. Just before putting her in the room's microwave, he punched the then two-month-old child and placed her in the room's safe and fridge.

Mauldin at first told police his daughter had been severely sunburned, later changing his story and saying he had accidentally spilt hot water on her while making coffee. Ana suffered second and third-degree burns to her left ear, cheek, hand and shoulder and required two skin grafts. Part of her left ear had to be amputated. [source - guardian]

Shocking, poor child. It's horrible and sad.

I'm speechless.... just speechless...... its beyond the boundaries of my thoughts.

fair comment really fractured
this is the stuff i don't even want to read... or see written.
since i've had children,
the feeling is even more extreme.

the media is full of horror stories sally and i share your feelings, it's sick and although it's hard to comprehend and difficult to deal with, these issues can not and should not be swept under the carpet - society needs to be confronted with itself so it can realize what it is.
I have received a complaint that i did not list the source of this news item. So here it is - www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/mar/27/usa.internationalcrime1
I don't know how can exist people without feelings and macabre mind. It's terrible.
I just read through this thread again and maybe sally would like to check out the comment i made 2 days ago in which i did in fact cite the source as being the guardian, that particular complaint should not have been made at all but i hope it is now resolved sally.
yes, it is resolved.

I would also like to point out that this post is not a shock tactic at all. The issue may be shocking but there are no tactics involved. The brief details were offered in response to a question from candy and i did nothing to spin the story at all. I merely posted the main elements to help candy understand the story. I do not find this story entertaining and i did not post the item for entertainment value or to generate page hits, that's just absurd. If I wanted to generate high page counts then i would resort to posting images of naked females with ample breasts but I don't want to and that's that.
