Voodoo began in 1994 - The concept was simple and reactionary. At the time all the dj's on the scene had become genre based, many had specialized playing hip-hop or funk, garage or house and things were getting a little stale and very predictable. Voodoo broke the rules. Voodoo played the field and crossed every known boundary. Ambient was mixed into Chillout, Downbeat was mixed with Trip-Hop, Garage was mixed with House and the tempo ranged from non existent to 160bpm. Little Fluffy Clouds drifted into the Age of Love and all the rules were broken in 4 hour long mix sessions that covered all bases in an endless excursion of unpredictability. Voodoo stayed underground and it still is. When the venue closed down, Voodoo carried on behind locked doors and that's when the heat got turned up, that's where it belonged, locked down a million miles from the mainstream superstar dj and corporate club movement. History lesson over.
